The staff were all lovely and helpful. I had to wait a long time for my appointment as they were running late, but no later than my usual GP and as they are one of the few surgeries open over the Christmas and new year period it is understandable that they are busy.
Dr Jack is amazing!! Great to talk to, lovely bedside manner, really interested in my issues and how to resolve them. Really felt like he is genuinely interested in making my life better. Can be a wait sometimes with appointments running late, but no surprise as he is thorough
I’ve had reasonably ok experiences previously for myself (loved Dr Agga) however when my partner took our 2yo son the other day, it was not the experience I would have hoped for a sensitive young toddler. The nurse could improve their bedside manner and child-friendliness - they appeared not warm and my son was scared enough in the new environment. I was saddened to hear that the Gp Kolli didn’t have very gentle approach to my son - as she tried to bribe him with chocolate only if he stopped crying. Firstly, we dont offer chocolate to our son yet, and secondly, we validate and are empathetic to our son’s emotions. This Gp was quite authoritarian and dismissive. Understandable with time pressure, however we have been to GPs who still take time to respect young children.
Unfortunately I don’t think we will be ever going back to this centre.
Staff were so friendly, my first time as a new patient. Plenty of room in the waiting area, and chairs outside if you prefer. Scheduling time was great, didn't wait long for my appointment, and my Dr now works there, Dr Hassan. Not down the road as he was, but definitely worth seeing some one you trust for a few extra kms. Thank you.
I am very happy to follow Dr Hassan to your practice, thank you for welcoming me as a new patient, our new family practice. Thank you for being so friendly and accomodating so soon after Christmas.
I visited the East Maitland Family Medical Centre for the first time recently having moved from interstate. Having had a long and valued relationship with a Surgery interstate, I was anxious. My anxiety was completely unfounded as the reception staff and Dr Hassan put me at ease immediately, thoroughly professional and empathetic. This particular surgery came highly recommended by a colleague who also attends, I am not surprised given my initial experience.
Dr Kolli was a terrible experience that we will not be going back for. She completely disregarded the examples and explanations both my partner and I gave to give her as much information as she needed. She wasted time during the appointment when creating a referral for my partner to get more money and on top of everything, she didn’t access the public medical records when speaking about medications, showed hostility towards my partner and I and was condescending, and she used incorrect pronouns after my partner had completed the form stating how he identified and what his pronouns were, and what his preferred name was, and she continued to dead name him. Not worth the money, time or the brain cells. This isn’t the 80s anymore, either update your information and be a compassionate human being or get out of the health care system for the love of god.
I see Dr Hassan. I am super happy with the care I receive from him. He takes the time to understand my needs and provides appropriate medical care and advice. We will be staying as long as he is. I was hoping to get a bit more back from Medicare but that's not the practices fault, that's on the government. I hope that changes soon.
